Happy Day

Today was a wonderful day. It all started like it usually does. Drake woke up around 8 o'clock and I stomped into his room half awake. But as soon as I looked in his crib, I saw this beautiful baby boy smiling bigger than I think I've ever seen him smile. He was soo excited about everything today right from the get go. He laughed and giggled every time I changed his diaper. If I left the room, every time I came back in his line of view, Drake would smile real big and kick his feet like crazy. He was absolutely precious all day. He didn't whine. He didn't cry. He was perfect. He's so much fun!! I highly recommend every one get one if you don't already have one. Not mine, though. You'll have to find your own.

The Next Stage

So for a couple of weeks now I've been trying to encourage Drake to spend more time on his tummy, but haven't had much luck. Since he knows how to roll over, as soon as you put him on his tummy, he justs rolls right back over to his back. Today, though, he didn't mind it so much. At first I put a toy out in front of him to try and keep his attention focused on the toy and not on the fact that he was on his tummy. He wasn't tricked. How sad is that? I can't even fool a 6 month old! What did it was the retarded dog!! Deogi (my shih-tzu) was rolling all over the floor back and forth like he usually does because he's strange and Drake absolutely was fascinated!! He watched him for I don't know how long holding hisself up on his hands while on his tummy. Now I know he can do it!! I guess babies really do do things when they're good and ready to and not a moment before. Hopefully he'll be up and crawling in no time. Then the fun really begins. I better go ahead and baby-proof the house!!

First Day of Blogging

What to write about.....? Well, I guess I'll just start off by saying that I'm only doing this so I can keep all my friends that I don't get to see and talk to (especially Julie) updated on what's going on in my life now that I have my precious baby boy, Drake. Now that that's said, on with the blog........

I've been a mother for a whole six months now and let me tell you my life is completely different. I never in a million years thought that I would love spending my days with a drooling little baby but I wouldn't trade it for the world! My life is completely different and I've never been happier.

Let's get everyone caught up..... Drake is now 6 months old and sitting up entirely on his own and loving every minute of the freedom. He sits in the floor and plays with his toys for ever now. He learned he can laugh out loud for an extended period of time and has put me in tears several times with his cackling spells. He's still just as precious as ever; especially now that everytime he smiles you can see his two cute little bottom teeth. I'm so in love!!! I'll be putting pictures on here for everyone to see just as soon as I figure out how to (still new at this).
